A wonderful tradition in the streets and bazaars of Mexico is the beautiful canaries that will tell your fortune. You give the vendor a peso, and the bird hops out of his cage and selects a fortune for you from a little box with folded paper fortunes. This paper maché artist depicts the scene in loving detail. The artists, Estella Mendiola and XXX, are in the Great Masters of Mexican Folk Art book. They live and work in the city of Guanajuato.
